Born in Madrid, Ignacio developed an early interest in filmaking producing, directing, editing and shooting his own films. Learning the hard way through photochemical still photography, he specialized later as cinematographer shooting short films and commercials.

His work in "8", an stylized & atmospheric horror short, became Spain's first to be covered by "American Cinematographer" magazine (Sept. 2012). "8" also earned him several awards for cinematography and launched his career as cameraman never afraid of experimenting and taking risks, with a vast knowledge of the history of filmaking & techniques.

His later studies include the ASC Master Class Spring 2014, under the direction of Stephen H. Burum, ASC, where he received lessons from John Toll, ASC, Robbie Greenberg, ASC, Richard Edlund, ASC, Rob Legato, ASC, Bill Bennett, ASC, Curtis Clark, ASC or Dante Spinotti, ASC, among others.
